About Us

The Australian-Serbian Theatre Pilipenda

The Australian-Serbian Theatre Pilipenda was established in 2009 when a group of enthusiastic performers from the Serbian community decided to put on a play by a well know Serbian playwright Petar Kocic, Jazavac pred Sudom (Hamster at the court).

After huge success in Serbian communities all around Australia, the group had decided to bring together Serbian immigrants and their descendants in Australia who are active and engaged in theatre, drama, dance, music, film, literature in both Serbian and English languages in order to promote Serbian culture, art and language through written and performed work.

Pilipenda theatre also aims to work together with other theatres in Australia to promote cultural diversity on Australian stage.
